Along with Alpecin, Deceuninck will become the sponsor of the name of the Belgian cycling formation, committing itself by the end of 2025. Deceuninck will remain a sponsor of the name for at least three years. Contracts with Alpecin and Canyon also run until the end of 2025. So the team becomes ready for the next step: the WorldTour license for the period from 2023 to 2025.
Bruno Humblet, CEO of Deceuninck: “Deceuninck has joined a young, dynamic and ambitious team in early 2022. Now is the ideal time to take on the role of name sponsor, and the same step will follow with the women’s team from 2023 onwards.
During the spring we managed to win several races - with the Tour of Flanders as the absolute highlight. We are very conscious of our decision to become a name sponsor in order to support our customers around the world and further develop our Deceuninck brand. We face great challenges in our sector and we want to offer our customers additional support wherever possible. Therefore, global publicity through our cycling sponsorship is certainly an example of this. ”
Philip Roodhooft, general manager of the Alpecin-Fenix team: “Today is a great day for the team. Our horizon now reaches 2025. The budget is growing and it is necessary because you need money to succeed, and to keep what you have, you need even more money. It is a pleasure to see that we are taking this step with the same partners, albeit in different roles. ”
The new Alpecin-Deceuninck jerseys will appear in public for the first time at the Tour de France. From then on, the new jersey will be worn by teams of men's elite cycling, cyclocross, mountain biking and gravel cycling, except for the women's team until 2023.
